1. Procedure of certification of glues for kleenyih beams in Europe
1.1. Standards on adgezivyi in Europe — the present and the future.

In Europe there are some institutes which can conduct tests and issue certificates on glutinous systems for bearing wooden designs. However only some of them are recognised as the international bodies for test similar adgezivov. Two of them — the most important in Europe — the Norwegian Institute of Wood Technologies (NTI) in Oslo, Norway, and Istitute Otto of the Count (FMPA) in Stuttgart, Germany.
The certificates issued by these institutes, admit the several other countries. There is also French institute STBA which plays very important role the local French market. This institute maintains partner relations with NTI.
Till 1992 bearing wooden designs were tested and certificated under standards of that country or the countries where they were supposed to be used and whose institute executed tests and issued certificates.
Standard EN should be accepted and be used all EU member states. In practice it means, that all European countries outside of EU also use standards EN as use of other standards will entail problems at production export between EU member states and the countries not members of EU.

1.2. The basic standards for adgezivov bearing wooden designs.

Standard EN 301 includes requests to adgezivnyim to systems, EN 302 parts with 1 on 4 consist of testing methods.

1.3. Acceptance procedure adgezivnoy systems for bearing wooden designs in Europe.

In Europe production kleenoy wood is regulated by standard EN 386 (Kleenaya wood production — Requests to operational qualities and minimal requirements to production) and other standards on which the reference in EN 386 is given. Now there is a work on new standard EN 14080 about which it will be stated more low. It will be the standard which can be used for kleenyih beams of mark SE.

2. Requests for reception of the certificate of institute FMPA on kleenyie beams
2.1. The standard on production kleenyih beams in Europe

Standard EN 386 is the basic industrial standard in Europe for kleenyih beams. It describes, what requests to all stages of production, requests to wood, adgezivam, shipovyim to connections and quality of the stuck together knots, the industrial requests, concerning all elements in an industrial chain and measures on quality assurance exist.
Adgezivnyie the systems applied in production kleenyih of beams, should meet the requirements before mentioned standards EN 301/302. Adgezivnaya the system is not supposed to use, will not be tested and approved yet by the authorised institute.
The choice of glutinous system depends on for what purpose it will be used. Glues are divided on two categories, I and II, depending on their qualities during tests on EN 301/302.
Classes I and II at least partially depend on a chemical compound, therefore phenolic and melaminovyie adgezivyi belong to the class I; and mochevinnyie glues — to a class II.
Adgezivyi a class I can be used, when the temperature in a design exceeds 50°S or when temperature 20°S, but relative humidity in atmosphere above 85 %.
Adgezivyi a class II can be used, if relative humidity of air below 85 % at temperature 20°S.
Three classes under standard EN 386 depending on climatic conditions in which wood will be used kleenaya are more low described:

Class 1: the Class is characterised by moisture content in materials according to temperature 20°S and the relative humidity of air exceeding 65 % of all on some weeks in year. In a class 1 general moisture content in soft wood will not exceed 12 %. («Internal use»). In a class 1 can be used adgezivyi type I and II, Adgezivyi type II can be used, if the temperature in kleenyih beams never exceeds 50°S.
Class 2: the Class 2 is characterised by moisture content in materials according to temperature 20°S and the relative humidity of air exceeding 85 % only on some weeks and year. In a class 2 general moisture content in the majority of soft breeds of a tree will not exceed 20 %. («External use, but protected»). In a class 2 use adgezivov type I is supposed. If the temperature kleenyih beams never exceeds 50°S, it is possible to use also adgezivyi type II.
Class 3: the Class 3 is characterised by climatic conditions with higher moisture content, than in a class 2. («External use under the influence of any weather»). In this class it is possible to use adgezivyi only type I.

As melaminovyie and phenolic adgezivnyie systems are tested and will be certificated on the same requests in Europe for use in all three classes, systems should meet the requirements of each separate class as it is described in EN 301. Not modified Uf-systems are used only in a class 1 (for internal application).
Standard EN 386 also contains references to other En-standards, concerning testings of quality of a line of pasting. Among them the following:
  • Standard EN 391 «Kleenaya wood. The test for stratification of lines of pasting».
    This standard establishes various methods of stratification for quality assurance of integrity of lines of pasting on production.
  • Standard EN 392 «Kleenaya wood. The test for a stretching of a line of pasting» (the block test for a stretching).
    EN 392 establishes a method of definition of durability of a line of pasting at a stretching in a direction of granules and intends for quality assurance at the enterprise.
2.2. Production acceptance (kleenyih beams) on DYNES 1052 under control FMPA

The manufacturer kleenyih beams which wishes to receive the certificate on production under the standard of DYNES 1052, makes an application in Institute Otto of the Count (FMPA) in Stuttgart. Production can be certificated for different kinds of designs: And, In, With and D.
Classes And and In are the most interesting to manufacturers kleenoy beams. The class And includes all kinds kleenoy beams, direct beams enter into a class In to 12 metres in length kleenyie and mostly.
In classes And and In manufacturing shipovyih connections lameli it is made under the standard of DYNES 68140-1.

Requests to the company which wishes to receive certificate FMPA, extensive enough. Following requests concern them:
  • To staff
  • To floor spaces
  • To warehouses of day of a seasoned wood
  • To warehouses for pasting shipovyih connections
  • To a room for pasting process

As soon as the decision to make kleenuyu a beam is made, it is necessary to contact FMPA. If production already functions, it is very important, that all information concerning production has been sent in FMPA.
The necessary engineering specifications are a detailed plan of production and the description of the equipment which is available on production. If this material is recognised by sufficient, date of visit of the representative of institute is nominated that the enterprise and production have received the certificate. During visit the enterprise, the equipment, installations and staff is evaluated. If an estimation positive, samples of the stuck together wood can be sent in FMPA for testing.
The price of this procedure will be nominated FMPA by preparation of procedure of reception of approval.

3. The new European standard on production (preliminary) EN14080.
Recently within the limits of SEN the new preliminary standard on production (kleenaya a beam) has been developed. The purpose of the standard that it defines requests to kleenoy to wood the same as and to big shipovyim to the connections used in kleenoy to wood. The preliminary standard is now offered for voting to EU member states.
Meeting the requirements of this standard, kleenaya the beam can receive marks SE.
