Question: How to understand a word meaning: batteries, konvektoryi, radiators?
The answer: Everything, that often name "batteries", it is possible to subdivide into 3 basic of type:
  • Traditional radiators (have rather great volume, contain more than the hot heat-carrier and have the raised inertia). At the expense of it they give heat, mainly, in the form of radiation;
  • konvektoryi (give warmly mainly at the expense of air circulation through them). Inside konvektora the pipe on which te heat-carrier moves is possessed, heating up the branched out surface of the "accordion" which have been put on a pipe. Air passes through konvektor from below upwards, heating up from numerous warm orebreniy;
  • Panel radiators (the combined heating devices combining properties of radiators and konvektorov).
Question: How to choose a radiator?
The answer: the Major indicator in this case should become working and opressovochnoe pressure. Ignoring of these parametres is fraught with unpleasant consequences.

The answer: They warm up a premise more fast, than pig-iron radiators, and well cope thermostatic gates. Aluminium and bimetallic section radiators are calculated for pressure from 6 to 25 atm. Pressing pressure to 37 atm. The maximum temperature of the heat-carrier to 130 °S. Because aluminium is sensitive to quality of the heat-carrier, acidity of the last should lay in limits rN = 7-8. Also the big pressure jumps and temperatures are undesirable. For prevention of electrochemical corrosion in junctions of aluminium sections with steel pipes special adapters should be used.

Question: What represent steel panel radiators?
The answer: These heating devices take intermediate position on heat conductivity between pig-iron and aluminium radiators. Structurally they are executed from the stamped steel sheets stable against corrosion by thickness of 1,3-1,6 mm forming a number of vertical parallel channels which unite a horizontal collector. Radiators are executed single-row, dvuhryadnyimi, three-row, with orebreniem and without it. Thus each radiator is covered by multilayered heat-resistant enamel. Some manufacturers for increase of reliability of radiators cover them tsinkofosfatom. Steel radiators are recommended to be applied to the independent, closed systems of heating with the heat-carrier with the lowered contents of oxygen. Are calculated for pressure from 6 to 10 atm. At reconstruction of old system of heating (replacement of old pig-iron radiators by steel panel radiators) it is possible to reduce expenses for heating.

Question: Why radiators recommend to establish under windows?
The answer: It is done that the warm air lifted from a radiator, blocked movement of cold air from a window.

Question: What rules of installation of heating devices?
The answer: They are simple and are easily remembered:
  • The device centre should coincide with the window centre, a maximum deviation — no more than 20 mm;
  • The distance from a floor to a device bottom should be not less than 60 mm (for convenience of cleaning of a floor under a heating element), and from top of the device to a window sill — not less than 50 mm (that it was possible to remove, not touching podokonnoy boards);
  • Heating devices establish so that their edges placed strictly vertically;
  • In each separate premise it is necessary to possess all heating elements at one level (across).
Question: As the temperature regulators established on radiators are arranged and allowing automatically to maintain the set temperature.
The answer: Such regulators consist of two parts:
  • The regulating crane;
  • Thermoheads.

By means of a thermohead the required temperature of air is set. In it there is a special structure which extends at temperature increase indoors and mechanically influences regulating crane. In a word, when air temperature indoors becomes above set, access of hot water to a radiator is reduced, and at temperature fall indoors — increases.

Question: whether the Truth, what heat-carrier type (water or antifreeze) influences a choice of radiators?
The answer: an antifreeze Thermal capacity approximately on 15-20 % more low, than at water (i.e. it accumulates heat is worse and is worse gives it). Therefore at designing of system of heating with antifreeze radiators it is necessary to choose more powerful.
