"Vector" against corrosion

Domestic experts develop a spectrum of new highly effective covers "Vector" for anticorrosive processing of pipes of a heat supply, and also others metallokonstruktsiy.

There is no necessity to speak as it is important, as an acute problem of anticorrosive protection in building and, first of all, in heat supply systems.

Laid beskanalno or in a collector under the earth steel thermal pipes (and them in the country more than 200 thousand in km) become unfit for use in schitannyie years and oday are the weakest, vulnerable link of heating systems.

Now the durability of domestic thermal networks does not exceed at the best 12-15 years. Thus the share of the general losses of heat in systems of the centralised heat supply in Russia on "fault" of pipes makes, at least, 20-25 % of released heat, that in 3-4 times exceeds a similar indicator in foreign countries.

As shows the statistican, a principal cause of high damageability of heat conductors is outside corrosion of pipes on which share it is necessary to 80 % from the general number of damages. Contact of soil waters to a metal surface of pipes in the presence of oxygen fast does «the business». Process of destruction of metal proceeds with the accruing speed comparable unless with speed of destruction in solutions of acids.

So, at operation in the conditions of a city speed of corrosion of concrete reaches 15-20 mm/year, and the thickness of a pipe from a carbonaceous steel decreases for 0,3-0,5 mm annually.

From corrosion it is considered one of the most effective methods of protection of thermal pipes use of the special sheetings intended for prevention of direct contact of metal of pipes with soil waters.

Now as such materials various covers on a bitumen basis, and also diverse polymeric covers from epoksidnyih, kremniyorganicheskih, organosilikatnyih materials or their compositions more often are used. However following defects are inherent in them:
  • Sheetings on a bitumen basis are technological enough and undemanding to quality of preparation of a metal surface, but term of their service does not exceed 5-7 years;
  • epoksidnyie, kremniyorganicheskie and organosilikatnyie covers differ enough difficult and labour-intensive technology of drawing. It provides obligatory realisation pesko-jet and drobestruynoy processings of a protected surface, its degreasing, level-by-level drawing of 4-6 layers of a material with drying and heat treatment. It is clear, that fulfilment of qualitative protection of heat conductors by this method probably in stationary conditions of shops or the plots equipped with the special equipment. Practical use of these materials in field (route) conditions rather inconveniently.

Experts NPK "Vector" within the limits of federal «the Comprehensive programme of increase of reliability and profitability of thermal networks on the basis of increase in a working resource» develop and run in in production a spectrum of polymeric anticorrosive covers specially for pipelines of thermal networks. As a basis of new protective compositions have been used poliuretanovyie systems. It is necessary to tell, that poliuretanyi today thanks to the running characteristics, possibilities of reception of diverse updatings find more and more wide application in the most various spheres — from production of footwear before creation of designs of artificial heart.

Use them and in heat supply systems. Working out of a special compounding on base poliuretanovyih systems has allowed to adapt technological and service properties of created compositions for use in real conditions of installation, repair and operation of thermal networks, to achieve rather high protective characteristics of cover "Vector" with simultaneous simplification of technology of use of a new material.

The important advantage of new anticorrosive and waterproofing compositions is possibility of their drawing on a processed surface without special preparation. Painting can be carried out in a wide interval of temperatures (from-10 to +80°S) and at any humidity of air. Thus cover is put in 2-3 layers (including on a rusty surface) as manual, and mechanically. Received covers have high anticorrosive and waterproofing characteristics. They have high enough durability and well maintain operational temperature from-35 to +170°S.

As have shown tests (they were conducted VNIPIEnergoprom by the special technique simulating the most adverse route conditions), the durability of new compositions "Vector" makes from 18 till 25 years. New cover differs good durability of coupling with protected metal both concrete surfaces and high thermal stability. It corresponds to all requests presented to anticorrosive covers of heat conductors.

At almost double increase in a resource of a sheeting cost of works with application of a novelty does not exceed an expense for anticorrosive processing of heat conductors by other known materials. And it means, that without rise in price of cost of a lining of heat conductors practically twice it is possible to increase duration of a cycle of a rerun of pipes at significant reduction of costs for realisation of current and emergency repairs.

These indicators are confirmed today and in practice.

In 1996 of a composition "Vector" for the first time have been used on separate plots of thermal networks of of Moscow. As objects acting plots of the pipelines which are in thermal chambers have been chosen. These plots, it agree to the statistican, are most subject to corrosive attack (to 70 % from all corrosion defects in networks). As operation practice has shown, and today covers "Vector" have not lost the protective characteristics. By present time in one of thermal chambers (and them more than 1000) it is not registered any failure because of outside corrosion of pipes. These operational indicators, and also simplicity of use, rather low price of a novelty depict also the further prospects of its introduction in heat supply systems. Wider use of covers "Vector" (and not only in Moscow) will allow to increase considerably a resource of again laid and maintained thermal lines, aloud to cut costs for realisation of current and emergency repairs.

Now experts of the enterprise develop the whole series of updatings of new covers of family "Vector" intended for anticorrosive protection metallokonstruktsiy and the most various conditions of their operation.

First, it is a ground «Vektor-1025». Its basic appointment — protection of pipelines of thermal networks. Cover can be used also as a ground under majority LKM for protection against atmospheric corrosion of any metallokonstruktsiy.

Cover «Vektor-1214» is developed as special himostoykoe cover on a ground «Vektor-1025». It can be applied and as an independent sheeting.

The waterproofing "Vektor-1214" Would be applied in the conditions of the raised temperature and humidity of atmosphere. This cover is the most effective can be used in quality paro - and waterproofing cover on concrete surfaces in a combination to a reinforcing material.

Cover «Vektor-1253» is specially intended for protection of outside gas pipelines against atmospheric corrosion. It is developed with allowance for all features of operation of pipelines of this kind.

«Vektor-1236» is some kind of universal cover it is applied as independent to superficial protection practically any metallokonstruktsiy from atmospheric corrosion (especially chimneys). Its use in a combination to a ground «Vektor-1025» allows to increase sheeting service life even more.

Now new anticorrosive covers "Vector" are certificated and recommended to practical application (SNiP 41-02-2003 «Thermal networks», and also «the Typical instruction on protection of pipelines of thermal networks from outside corrosion» RD 153-34.0-20.518-2003). Thus, developed anticorrosive, vlagozaschitnyie covers "Vector" will find the widest application at a lining of new thermal networks, for processing of acting heat conductors in accessible places, at under abnormal condition-regenerative works of pipes in places of local excavation. With success they can be used for processing of thermal isolation of heat conductors (including with penopoliuretanovoy a cover) for the purpose of creation of a reliable waterproofing of pipes, and also for anticorrosive protection of the most various objects maintained in the conditions of open atmosphere.
