Until recently the stopper associated at us exclusively with production industry wine-vodka. However materials from a bark of a pith oak are also excellent materials for processing. Materials for processing from a stopper have good warmly - and sound-proof qualities, and also fine acoustic properties. The walls which have been pasted over with a stopper, eliminate an echo and reduce noise between rooms on 17-20 dB. Any version of a stopper is characterised by the lowest heat conductivity, stability to differences of temperatures, changesof climatic conditions, effect of insects and rodents. The pith interline interval practically is not subject to ageing, does not require special care, does not absorb extraneous smells (a cigarette smoke, for example).
The largest manufacturer of a stopper in the world — Portugal on which share it is necessary more than 51 % of all world volume. In Portugal the pith oak grows on the area in 660000 hectares. Acts in film from trees thus about 360000 tons of a bark annually. 170000 tons a year are extracted barks on the average.
The technology of extraction of a stopper is simple and ecologically painless": a tree cut as a sheep. Oaks manually release of a bark. It is not reflected in any way in their ability to live — in nine years trees completely restore a bark, and all simple procedure repeats. First time a bark acts in film from a tree when it reaches age of 25 years, and is called as"virgin". This operation is conducted during the period from June till August and is very delicate not to do much harm to a tree, the tree life otherwise is reduced. Life expectancy of a tree, depending on the circulation with it, varies and makes 150-170 years. The tree age of 80 years gives barks about 200 kg.
Features of a molecular structure of a stopper define its valuable qualities — ease, elasticity, elasticity, durability, and also high warmly - and sound-proof properties. The stopper is the natural natural polymer representing dense cellular structure, consisting of small cages (14 grannyih poligedronov), incorporating among themselves and reminding beer honeycombs. Each cell has a minimum quantity of a firm connecting material and a maximum quantity of gaseous substance, i.e. in other words – the atmospheric air which is not containing dioxides of carbon. In each cubic centimetre of a stopper can be about 40 million the cellular cells divided among themselves by intercellular partitions. Thus, the pith structure represents the water-proof cellular capsules which have been filled in with air. It allows a stopper to restore the initial form after physical effect or pressure upon it.
The pith oak has appeared in the nature more 60 million years ago and belongs to the well-known family of beechen and chestnut trees. For ukuporki amphoras it used in ancient Rome, however it «building career» has begun only in 18 century. Today the stopper finds wide application in the building industry. Covers from a stopper often use at internal furnish of sound recording studios and concert halls. Covers from a stopper were used in furnish of such buildings, as the airport in the Geteborg, National library in New York, and also representations of companies IBM, Ericsson and Volvo.
Covers from a stopper are completely ecologically safe. Transformation of a pith bark into an item occurs without sharing of chemical substances and is based on natural qualities of raw materials. Besides, such covers have favorable biopower properties, create a special microclimate in premises, weakening action of geopathogenic zones.
