Today speak about modern projects and skyscrapers is more often, but we all first of all will pay attention to old architecture because as modern architects and designers did not try, to create something more grandiose and impressing at them it has not turned out yet. So, get acquainted -the city of Riga, street Brivibas…

 Brivibas (Freedom) it it now, instead of in such remote past, as well as in many cities of Soviet Union, the main street of a city carried Lenin\’s name, and once it was Aleksandrovsky, and any time even carried a name…, but we will leave it to historians, us the architecture interests.

 We will begin perhaps not with the centre, and from area of Riga where there is a former leader of the Soviet radio and electronic industry - factory VEF. Well also the palace of culture, moreover what, massive columns, a majestic kind, in general the present palace was final at such factory:

 And it the modern office of mobile operator LMT near was cosy arranged. Well that in comparison with many modern structures, it not the worst variant of a building from glass which so is worthy.

 Well, and we should pass to ways to the centre through the Air bridge, either Vefovsky, or the Aleksandrovsky viaduct… Name as want, but it too a monument of architecture with long history.

 Modern monolithic, concrete designs, certainly give the big possibilities and simplify building, but a stone… Reflects eternity.

 Walking on the bridge it is possible to notice here such, it seems a toy small house, with a wooden balcony and a weather vane on a roof. I think somewhere here there should live Carlson

 At a crossroads of street Brivibas and Tallinas, surrounded from different directions the new church St. Gertrudyi meets noisy roads, to us.

 And already through pair kilometres of our walk on Brivibas, we meet also old church St. Gertrudyi. It is hidden hardly in a lane, but is even more majestic and is mysterious.
